Compatibility guide of the Infinite Battery
Here is a page to help you decide whether the Infinite battery can replace your battery.
Mechanical Compatibility
Check your battery is external ?
The Infinite can replace preferably battery packs that are already mounted on tube or external surfaces. If you battery in hidden in the tube of the frame, then you wont be able to fit the battery in. If your battery is on the bike rack, you can fix the Infinite on the rack.
A special mention for Bosch Powerpacks:
- if it is buried in the frame: it won't work as the Infinite is larger than the Powerpack.
- you should have 4 cm (1,5 inch) clearance in front of the powerpack as the Infinite is longer.
Voltage compatibility
The Infinite Battery exists only in 36V or 48V version. If your current battery is 24v or 52V it can't be replaced.
If you are unsure about the voltage of your battery, check the label of your charger:
- the charging voltage of a 36V battery is 42V
- the charging voltage of a 48V battery is 54.6V
Communication compatibility
Some specific brand or models imposes that the battery speaks to the motor to function. If there are only two power cables (often red and black) connecting your battery to the motor, then there is no communication and the Infinite is compatible (provided the two previous points).
If there are other (ofter smaller wires that link the battery to the motor) then there might be communication and then you need to look in the following list (check the excel file rather than the screenshot):
